This evening we will have a welcome meeting to get settled and review the itinerary before heading out to a nearby steakhouse.
Today we hop a morning flight to El Calafate. Straight from the airport, we will transfer north towards the small hiking town of El Chalten.
This journey offers our first taste of the proper Patagonian landscape. The drive provides plenty of opportunity for spotting wildlife and for marvelling at the other-worldly scenery. When you first glimpse the stone massif of El Chalten, you’ll be left speechless.
Today is an included full-day hike from town into Parque Nacional los Glaciares. Led by a local guide with expert knowledge of the flora & fauna, we ascend to Laguna de los Tres, one of the most iconic viewpoints of the El Chalten mountain.
Our trail offers a variety of terrain plus stunning mountain vistas, exotic birdlife, cascading glaciers and panoramic views of the Andes range.
El Chalten has so much going on, that a few extra days are needed. Enjoy an extra hike, trek on a glacier or raft the white water of the Rio de las Vueltas. See the list of popular activities in El Chalten.
The evening of Day 5 we will transfer back to El Calafate.
Included visit to Perito Moreno Glacier, a true natural wonder.
A local guide will highlight the history and wildlife of the region on our way to the national park. The park features an array of modern walkways designed to give numerous viewpoints from which to enjoy the glacier and await some resounding calving off its face.
Upgrade your experience with an optional boat ride on the Lago Argentino or take it a step further and opt for a glacier trek on Perito Moreno itself.
Today we travel by bus across the border to Puerto Natales, Chile.
Once in town, we will meet our local guides who will be escorting us through Torres del Paine National Park. We’ll be able to equip ourselves with last-minute items and get a good night’s rest before our adventure!
The W-Trek is synonymous with adventure. Our 3-day visit is sure to be a highlight of your Patagonian experience.
We expect to see the French Valley, the Horns, the Grey Glacier and the iconic Towers which give the park its name.
Led by certified mountain guides with in-depth knowledge, you’re bound to get the most out of your visit.
We journey by bus to Ushuaia, the southern-most city in the world. Sitting on the Beagle Channel, this last vestige of the Andes has a lot in store.
In Ushuaia, there is the chance to encounter unique wildlife including penguins, sealions, foxes and woodpeckers. You can roam the forest trails or choose to enjoy the relaxing scenery by boat. See the list of optional activities in Ushuaia.
Whatever you choose, there is delicious wine and seafood to indulge in!
Fly back north for a final nights in the big city.
We can enjoy a farewell evening of tango as we open a few bottles of wine!
Depart the following day.
Head back into the park to reach Laguna Torre or hike the challenging Pliegue Tumbado trail.
