Arrive Buenos Aires anytime.
This evening we will have a welcome meeting to get settled and review the itinerary before heading out to a nearby steakhouse.
We fly in the morning to the alpine city of Bariloche. Nestled on the shores of Lago Nahuel Huapi and with the forested background of Northern Patagonia, Bariloche is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise.
Over these two days there is plenty for us to explore. The Swiss-style landscape west of town is ideal for walks in the forest. There are myriad trails teeming with birdlife. We can cap our visit off with hot chocolate as we enjoy the panoramic views atop Cerro Campanario.
Today we’ll traverse the Andes mountain range in style! Using a series of comfortable vehicles and ferries, we’ll navigate the lakes and passes which make up the famed ‘Cruce Andino’. As we make this astonishing passage, we’ll see ancient forest, snow-capped volcanoes and will cross the border from
Argentina to Chile.
For more info on this incredible day, please visit www.cruceandino.com
Puerto Varas sits nestled on the shore of Lago Llanquihue with the iconic volcano Osorno across the lake. We have the full day to enjoy it as we desire, be it soaking up the Mapuche culture, whitewater
rafting or a hiking on the volcano itself. Delectable seafood awaits.
We hop a flight down to southern Patagonia. We’ll arrive to Puerto Natales, the jumping-off point for Torres del Paine. Here we’ll enjoy the charms of the town as we get excited for our excursions into the
National Park!
We’ll spend the day exploring the natural wonders of Torres del Paine. In our private van, we’ll traverse the landscape discovering thundering waterfalls, immense glaciers and the iconic vistas the park is known for. Along the way we can expect to see herds of guanaco and condors in the sky.
With our bearings achieved, today we hit the hiking trail itself. What awaits is an ambitious but rewarding hike to the Torres lookout where you come face to face with the towers which give the park its name.
This 22km hike may not be for everyone, therefore others may choose to use today to explore Puerto Natales and the surrounding area.
Today we travel by bus back across the border to El Calafate, Argentina. Calafate is the jumping off point for the famed Perito Moreno glacier, but there is plenty to do in town including friendly cafes and the Laguna Nimez bird reserve.
Included visit to Perito Moreno Glacier, a true natural wonder.
A local guide will highlight the history and wildlife of the region on our way to the national park. The
park features an array of modern walkways designed to give numerous viewpoints from which to enjoy the glacier and await some resounding calving off its face.
Upgrade your experience with an optional boat ride on the Lago Argentino or take it a step further and opt for a glacier trek on Perito Moreno itself.
We venture north to the small hiking town of El Chalten. Passing turquoise lakes, wind-swept badlands and ancient mountains, this journey provides quintessential Patagonian landscape. The drive provides plenty of opportunity for spotting wildlife and for marvelling at the other-worldly scenery. When you first glimpse the stone massif of El Chalten, you’ll be left speechless.
We’ll arrive in time for lunch and a light afternoon walk.
Today is an included full-day hike from town into Parque Nacional los Glaciares. Led by a local guide with expert knowledge of the flora & fauna, we ascend to Laguna de los Tres, one of the most iconic viewpoints of the El Chalten mountain.
Our trail offers a variety of terrain plus stunning mountain vistas, exotic birdlife, cascading glaciers and panoramic views of the Andes range. The full hike (20km) might not be for everyone, therefore a half-day option to the Fitzroy lookout (9km) is an enjoyable alternative.
El Chalten has so much going on, that an extra day is needed. Adventure-seekers can enjoy an additional nature hike, ride the countryside on horseback, raft the white water of the Rio de las Vueltas. If you prefer to relax, take it easy with a waterfall picnic, outdoor yoga or indulge in one of Chalten’s many spas.
We’ll journey back to El Calafate airport to hop our flight north for a final night in the big city.
We can enjoy a farewell evening of tango as we open a few bottles of wine!
Depart the following day.

Head back into the park to reach Laguna Torre or hike the challenging Pliegue Tumbado trail.

An extreme day in pursuit of an alpine glacier. A challenging hike and via ferrata course place you above the tree line where you will have earned the chance to walk on a glacier. Fully conducted by expert local guides.

Enjoy an afternoon ride across the foot of the Andes.

Pedal throughout the alpine valley before enjoying a picnic at a nearby waterfall.

Drift across the landscape before charging the white water of the Rio de las Vueltas.
